❦ Welcome to Heart & Voice!
Our motto, as you see above, is "Sing to the Lord with Joy and Skill." Our purpose is to assist you in that goal by holding Sing to the Lord! events at churches and other venues. What is a Sing to the Lord! event like?
It's a joyful gathering in which we sing a variety of psalms and psalm-like hymns in a variety of styles. We aim for singing that is enthusiastic, robust, loud and encouraging! Some songs will use familiar tunes so we can all sing without any practice. Quite a lot of the singing will include four-part harmony. This is singing that rejoices in the variety of gifts God has given, including honoring the difference between male and female voices. It sounds great! You do not need to be musical or able to read music. You will not be put on the spot, or asked to sing solos or anything like that.
In our Sing to the Lord! event we will especially focus on singing psalms. The singing of psalms has been an essential part of church worship for thousands of years but has fallen out of fashion. We want to see the psalms restored to their proper place as the hymnbook of the church.

❦ Here are a couple of psalms...Listen to the "all" music file a few times, then choose the part you would sing and listen that. Make that part your melody. Then try singing it with the "all" music file. Enjoy!
